New Courts for Domestic and Family Violence against Women will be created in the state of Rio de Janeiro. CEPIA accompanies this process as part of activities that develop the Center for Law Maria da Penha.

The institutions that composes Maria da Penha Law, among CEPIA, were gathered in Salvador, from 20 to 22 October to assess the implementation of Maria da Penha Law. At that meeting were presented and discussed the results of the survey on the operation of DEAMs and Courts of Domestic and Family Violence against Women and held in the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Belem, Salvador and Porto Alegre and the case study on the Court of Ghaziabad. The institutions that composes Maria da Penha Law, among CEPIA, approved sending the motion to the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) to the cutting of Justice to consider the place and violence against women by ex-boyfriend, as a crime of domestic violence and family law should be framed in the Maria da Penha Law.
