Mobilization for the applicability of Law 11,340/2006 - Law Maria da Penha of confrontation of the domestic and familiar violence against woman.

In face of the some cases of violence against women who ends or can end in death, journalist Aureliano Biancarelli tells in the book "Murders of Women in Pernambuco: Violence and resistance in a context of inaquality, injustice and machism" how the mobilization of the groups feminists have been pressured for effective public politics of combat to the violence against women. The Law Maria da Penha is one of the important instruments for the development of this politics. Cepia, in partnership with the Women's Learning Partnership for Rights, Development, and Peace (WLP) organization, adapted and translated the manual "Fomenting the taking of decisions: manual of training the leadership of women" elaborated by the WLP and its organizations partners.

Saber de Ellas

The book Saber de Ellas: Entre lo Publico y lo Privado, was launched in Santiago with a collection of texts about the challenges of the transit between family and work that the life of women characterizes. The book brings two prologues, one of the President of Chile, Michelle Bachellet and another one of Jacqueline Pitanguy and was edited by Margarita Errazuriz.

Domestic and Familiar Violence against Woman

Approved Law 11,340/2006 of confrontation of the Domestic and Familiar Violence against Woman - Law Maria da Penha, name given in homage to Maria da Penha, pertaining to the state of Ceará´s woman victim, survivor and symbol of the fight against the domestic violence in Brazil.
